This Shipping Policy outlines the details of our shipping process, delivery timelines, costs, international shipping requirements, and other important information to ensure a smooth delivery experience for your handcrafted Kumiko products. By placing an order with our Shopify store, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.
1. Order Processing Time
All orders are processed within 5-7 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays) after payment confirmation. Please note that handcrafted Kumiko products require careful production and quality inspection, so processing times may be extended by 3-5 days during peak seasons (e.g., holidays, sales events). We will notify you via email if there is any delay in processing your order.
2. Shipping Destinations
We offer shipping to most countries and regions worldwide. However, due to local regulations and shipping restrictions, we may not be able to ship to certain locations. If your country/region is not available at checkout, please contact us at gridkumiko@hotmail.com for assistance.
3. Shipping Costs & Methods
Shipping costs are calculated based on your shipping destination, package weight, and shipping method. You can view the exact shipping cost at checkout before completing your order. We partner with reliable carriers (including DHL Express, Canada Post, and Purolator) to ensure safe and timely delivery of your handcrafted Kumiko products. Below are our standard shipping methods:

Standard Shipping: Delivery time is 7-14 business days for domestic orders (within your country/region) and 10-25 business days for international orders. This method is cost-effective and ideal for non-urgent orders.

Express Shipping: Delivery time is 3-7 business days worldwide. This method is recommended for urgent orders, and tracking information is provided for all express shipments.
Note: For shipments to the United States, effective August 29, 2025, de minimis rules do not apply—duties and import taxes apply to all US imports regardless of shipment value. For shipments from Canada to the US using Canada Post, all shipments must be sent as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) starting August 28, 2025.
4. International Shipping Requirements
For international orders, the following requirements must be met to avoid delays, fines, or returns:

Harmonized System (HS) Codes: HS codes are required for all international orders. We will provide accurate HS codes for your Kumiko products to ensure compliance with customs regulations. Shipping labels cannot be printed for international orders without valid HS codes, regardless of whether they are DDP or DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) labels.

Customs Duties & Taxes: International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, and fees imposed by the destination country/region. These charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the product price or shipping cost. We recommend checking your local customs regulations to understand potential charges before placing an order.

Product Descriptions: All international orders will include detailed, precise product descriptions in plain language to facilitate customs clearance.
We offer both DDP and DDU shipping options for international orders. DDP shipping means duties and taxes are prepaid by us, while DDU shipping means the customer is responsible for paying duties and taxes upon delivery. You can select your preferred option at checkout (where available).
5. Packaging
Your handcrafted Kumiko products are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. We use eco-friendly, protective packaging materials (including recycled cardboard, bubble wrap, and crinkle paper) to prevent damage during transit. Our packaging is also designed to reflect our brand values and enhance your unboxing experience, with optional branded touches where available. We avoid excessive packaging to minimize our environmental impact while ensuring maximum protection for your items.
6. Tracking Information
Once your order is shipped, we will send you a confirmation email with a tracking number and a link to track your package. You can also check the status of your order by logging into your Shopify account and navigating to the "Orders" section. Please note that tracking information may take 24-48 hours to update after shipping.
7. Shipping Delays
We strive to deliver all orders on time, but occasional delays may occur due to factors beyond our control, including: customs processing, carrier delays, weather conditions, public holidays, or global events. We are not liable for any delays caused by these factors, but we will work closely with our shipping carriers to resolve any issues and keep you updated on the status of your order. If your package has not arrived within the estimated delivery time, please contact us at gridkumiko@hotmail.com for assistance.
8. Lost or Damaged Packages
If your package is lost or damaged during transit, please contact us within 7 days of the estimated delivery date. We will require a photo of the damaged package (if applicable) and any relevant tracking information to file a claim with the shipping carrier. Once the claim is approved, we will offer a replacement or a full refund (excluding shipping costs) at your discretion. We are not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer.
9. Undelivered Packages
If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect shipping address, undelivered (e.g., no one available to receive the package), or refused by the customer, we will contact you to arrange for re-shipping. Re-shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer. If we do not receive a response from you within 14 days, the order will be canceled, and a refund (excluding shipping costs) will be issued.

We reserve the right to update or modify this Shipping Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly. Your continued use of our service after any changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Shipping Policy.
